An integral part of the South African Government¹s policy of formalising the taxi industry was the provision of new ranks and stacking facilities. Provision of improved commuter facilities as well as access control to ensure cost recovery

As the delivery arm of Greater Johannesburg facilities, Intersite appointed ASA to provide Project and Construction Management services for the Westgate and Park City taxi ranks.

One of the obstacles faced by the design team was the fact that the rank lay over the outcrop of the mined reef.

The project was completed within budget and to the standards required by both the owner and operator, and is now being utilised by a grateful community.
