Following the re-incorporation of the Transkei and Ciskei into the new South Africa in 1992, the national electricity supplier, Eskom, was faced with a lack of facilities in these rural areas. The electrification and cost recovery process was of huge scale and so the property arm of the parastatal, Esprop, appointed ASA to assist with the planning and construction of a new regional office.

ASA worked with Esprop as Project and Construction Managers during 1997 and 1998. The resultant development was a 4 500sqm facility purpose built to accommodates Sales, Customer Services and Depot departments.

Operating within tight budget constraints, ASA were able to utilise significant local resources whilst achieving the quality required for such a prestigious development.
